Cousin Grayson's Birthday Party & Christmas Tree

Holy Buckets! What a day. We started the day by decorating our Christmas tree. Evan really enjoyed watching dad fumble with the string lights. And he love watching us put up all the ornaments. After a nap it was off to cousin Grayson's First Birthday Party. We went up to Shoreview and hung with the Family and watched Grayson rip through his presents and his cake! We came home for some good playing, and we got to watch the Gopher football team beat Iowa and win back "Floyd of Rosedale!" Evan was so happy! He hates Iowa!!

Here's a link to a pretty funny video of Evan laughing at Daddy making funny noises...VIDEO

Evan's First Thanksgiving

Evan's had his first Thanksgiving yesterday. We hosted the a pretty good size group at the house for dinner, 10 adults and 3 little guys. Evan got to see his grandma, grandpa and great grandpa. Aunt Rachel, Uncle Danny, Cousin Grayson and Aunt Toby were over too. He had a good time playing and eating a bunch! He definitely got into the spirit of eating a big meal.

Evan has lots of fun with the walker today too, he seems to be figuring out how to get around the house in it... Here's a video

Packers Throttle Vikings!

We had a great time at the house today. We had some friends over to watch the Packers/Vikings Game. Sean, Eric, Alex and Nate got to hang out with Evan and watch the Packers destroy the Vikings 31-3. After the Packers did their business, Evan celebrated by playing, laughing and eating a bunch of food and passing out. Despite the crazy freezing rain, it was an awesome day! And it was great to have some awesome buddies at the house to watch the game.

We got silly before the game

So silly, we let a Vikings fan hold us... (not cool)

After the Packers wrapped up the victory, it was happy time!

Cousin Playdate

Evan got to play with his cousin Grayson yesterday!  They shared toys, sort of.  They got some laughs out of each other and then they both crashed.  Not a bad day!

Tubby Time!

No, we're not referring to Tubby Smith here, though Evan will likely hear someday how his dad was able to catch a short conversation with the basketball coach on the way to a Gophers football game.....
Even better though, Evan had a scream-free bath time early this morning!  Jacob left very early for a trip to Denver and I cautiously started bath time after breakfast as it was inevitable following some very sticky peaches.  Evan has not enjoyed baths in a while, so I had prepared myself for another high-speed wash down.  However, when I dipped his feet in the sink this morning, he didn't scream.  So I risked it and sat him down.  He loved it!  He played with his toy, splashed around, posed for the camera - I had to take a picture because I knew Jacob wouldn't believe me!  Poor guy, I even took a short video clip - Evan, I promise nothing was exposed.  It was just too cute!

Evan's First Snow Storm

We woke up to a few inches of snow on the ground. Wet, heavy snow - and it kept coming down. The twin cities got slammed, with some areas to the west getting 11 inches! Evan's first snow storm was not a dusting it was a full blown blizzard! We stayed in the house all day since the roads were a mess. We had lots of good family time. We brought him outside to experience the snow, and he was a bit unsure. He didn't know what to do. We'll bring him out again today to see if he likes it. If only he were old enough to appreciate snow balls! This is some of the best snow ball snow I have ever seen!!

He was very playful today... (link to video)

Evan's First Snow Storm totaled 7.7" at the airport, which is about one mile from our house

We got the little guy bundled up to take him outside

We tried hard to get him to smile, but he wasn't sure

He didn't know what to think

Once we got inside it was all smiles

I got to stay home with the little guy today. It was just us guys all day. We had a fun time. Played lots and took naps. We're both pretty tuckered out though...

Evan's First Kick-Around

He's getting the hang of soccer, we think. Since he's only seven months old (TODAY!) we let him pick up the ball with his hands. But next month it's feet only!

Our Little Mozart

Evan woke up this morning, after a great night of sleep, and decided to play the piano. It was so cute. It's a bit grainy cause it was early in the morning, and the sun hadn't come up so it was dark. This video will also be posted on our You Tube site.

Packer Gameday!

Another game day...we do plan to broaden the scope of Evan's exposure beyond football each weekend.  He did have fun playing with dad and the football this morning.  And since it was so beautiful here today, we all enjoyed a run around Lake Nokomis.  Evan seems to enjoy riding in the stroller and was sleeping by the time we finished.  He's been putting everything in his mouth lately so we tried giving him some ice and frozen grapes in his food-net-thingy and he seemed to enjoy it.  Overall a great day!  Happy Sunday everyone!

Go Packers!

The run put the little guy to sleep

But he perked up when we got home

Later, we sucked on ice cubes through this little net contraption

Nebraska Wins!

Evan had a pretty good Saturday. We had the Husker flag flying and he was sporting his Cornhusker jumpsuit. We got some pretty good shots of him celebrating the Husker win over Iowa State. He was really into the walker today. We won't mention the Gopher's performance...
