This is what happens when.....

Evan doesn't take an afternoon nap and instead spends the time "reading" books in his crib at daycare.  These pictures were all taken between 5:30 and 6:30 pm tonight.  Let's just say he was asleep by 7.

Trains!

So Evan is loving the Brio train set. He has played with it everyday. He's learning how to connect the tracks and the trains. He also makes a "vroom" noise when he's pushing around the little engines.

Here's a  VIDEO of the little guy playing with the trains. At about :20 the trains come off the track and Evan says "uh oh.." Then later he sees Mommy and says "Momma." Too cute. This might be my favorite Evan video.

First Sleepover of Many

Evan's cousin Grayson came over Saturday evening and stayed overnight. It was Evan's first sleepover. We had lots of fun. We played outside and Adrienne made a delicious pasta bake that the boys just devoured. They woke up super early (6am) and got to have homemade cinnamon rolls too!

Best Weekend!

It really was the best weekend we've had in a long time!  We had absolutely NOTHING planned so we were able to roll with whatever we wanted to do and ended up having a great time together as a family!

Evan continues to LOVE being outside.  However, in recent weeks, he's become a bit obsessive about pushing his vehicles and does not seem to enjoy riding in them.  This would be ok, if he wasn't persistent about pushing them into people's lawns, into the street, and other locations that are prohibited.  So, we were very excited when he started to enjoy drawing with sidewalk chalk, here's a VIDEO.
We spent some afternoon time at Lake Nokomis on Saturday and had a great time!

Evan has always been interested in shoes.  He brings us shoes to wear (even when we already have shoes on).  He will go get his shoes when told because he thinks he's going outside (which is true most of the time).  And more recently, he's been interested in putting on shoes, especially daddy's shoes, here's a VIDEO.

  Here he is trying to get his feet into Jake's shoes. He tried this multiple times this weekend, pretty unsuccessfully.  

Evan became more interested in eating utensils this weekend too.  He especially enjoyed his fork with veggies and fruit, watch a VIDEO here.

We hit up the local wading pool on Sunday.  Evan wanted to go off on his own, unfortunately he's a few inches too short for that (we need to invest in some floaties).  He did love using his watering can on the side of the pool though!

And to end a great weekend, tonight Evan was in the tub playing around and suddenly pointed to the eye of the fish bath mat and said, "eyes."  He immediately looked up at me and nearly poked my eye out pointing to my eyes, and then grabbed his rubber ducky and pointed to its eye!  Perfect ending to a perfect weekend!

We're a bit late with all of these photos, but better late than never, right?  We continue to have busy summer weeks and weekends.  Last weekend it was VERY hot and humid here, so we had to do outside time sparingly.  Of course, Evan would stay outside all day if it was up to him, but he heats up so fast that we have to watch it.  So, he's hanging out shirtless more, which he enjoys, and we definitely think he has the physique for it:)  Lots of water play, pushing his car and wagon around, and now he enjoys drawing with chalk!  Hope you are all enjoying the summer weather!
