Sunny Days

Evan's loving the summer sun!  People keep asking if his hair is so white b/c of the sun, but no people, it's that way all year long:)  And yes, we're going to go through a case of sunscreen this summer to keep his translucent skin from burning.

He does love playing outside though.  Cousin Gracie is here visiting this week and the two of them got to play together outside Saturday night.  It took Evan a while to warm up, but once he did, they had a great time.  He of course wanted to show her all of his tricks with his toys, and watched carefully so that Grace got access to things, but not for too long.  Evan would swoop in as soon as she turned away from a toy to get his turn in.  Good thing Gracie is so flexible b/c this little guy has some room to grow in the sharing department:)

Saying "Goodbye" is always hard - Evan's

Zonked out, with his arm around a soccer ball.

Sunday was gorgeous, sprinkler time.

I think we ran through the sprinkler 30 times!

Guy's Night

Adrienne had another to work trip Montreal this weekend and cousin Grayson came over to spend the night Saturday. We had a good time, just the boys. It was super-hot this weekend, and luckily some friends in the neighborhood had a pool & spinkler set up for us to enjoy. I wish I had brought the camera - they were in rare form. As always, the boys had a blast.

It's still pretty hard to photograph these two.. there a good photo here some where
It's definately not this one...

Not bad...

I think this one is my favorite.

They both like very much when they have the same things.. notice how they each
have a truck with a trailer and a stuffed animal.

Up to no good and Evan's bed.

Despite the heat, we still got outside.

Then we beat the heat inside, watching cartoons and of course, they
BOTH had to wear slippers... even though it was 90 degrees outside.

Big Weekend

Wow! Evan had such a big weekend. Lots of firsts. We started by turning Evan's crib into a "big boy bed."  He hasn't quite figured out that there's not much keeping him in his room or from playing with his toys in the middle of the night, but we're not in a hurry to tell him this.  When he woke up the first morning, he called out for mommy and daddy and then told us he wanted to come in our room. Too cute.
On Saturday morning Evan went for his first bike ride in his new bike seat.  He liked it so much that he fell asleep on his second ride.  The seat must be comfortable!
We hit the beach for the first time this summer too. Of course Evan loved it.  Then, after all these fun events, we capped off the weekend with one final "first."  Yes, Evan threw up for the first time (other than baby spit up) this weekend.  He'd had too much fun swimming and gulping up kiddy pool water at a friend's house, and then choked a bit on a chip during dinner which led to a wicked throw up scene. All over mommy.  It was awesome.  A bath (and shower for mommy) later, and we were all good.  He's sleeping soundly now in his "new" bed.  Hope everyone had a great weekend!

New Bed!

He's working on mastering his dismount.

Looking a little worried.

He settled in and enjoyed the ride.

Another Sleep Over

Cousin Grayson was able to come over this weekend and spend the night. The kiddos are really starting to enjoy the sleep overs. So much so in fact, that they had trouble getting to sleep and staying asleep. They were up before 5am Saturday morning! Evan made up for it with a monster afternoon nap.

Here's a video of the two at dinner...

They both really like the "Freight Train" book

The 5am wake up call is starting to hit the boys...

Sunday morning, we built Evan a Duplo Garage... he had couple of his cars in it and said they were sleeping.

Springtime fun

Evan is loving the spring weather we've been having.  He has grown so much and is getting into everything!  A run-in with a bee last weekend has left him a little leery of flying insects.  He told me last night that they were all going to fly away.  And then he eyed anything with wings very cautiously for a while, until he figured out how fun it is to help mommy plant in the garden!  And suddenly everything must be done, "by myself."  We think he'll be mowing the lawn by himself by the end of June:)

Our "little dude" wearing a new pair of shoes... he's about
to meltdown - not crazy about new footwear.

Gorgeous weather this weekend.. we took the Matchbox cars outside

He's saying "Here Daddy," and giving me a car
to drive around with him.

And we got to eat dinner outside too.

Evan helped Mommy out in the garden.

Not afraid to get his hands dirty.

Singing and Being Silly

It's crazy how fast he's growing up!   Evan continues to surprise us every day, with new little funny things he'll say or do.  On the way home from a sleep over with his cousin Grayson, Evan said, "somebody tooted in Grayson's room."  I laughed of course (potty humor is funny, right?) and then asked him, "who tooted in Grayson's room?"  Evan's reply was honest and quick: "Evan tooted in Grayson's room."  Then he burst out laughing.
He's also begun singing more.  Could it be because his mama is always singing???

Evan singing "You Are My Sunshine" with Mommy... adorable.

We're still doing this...

Birthday Weekend, Part 2

Evan's birthday extravaganza concluded last weekend, with the Turzynski Family coming to down. Cousin Grayson slept over Friday night and as a special treat, Evan got to sleep over at Grayson's house Saturday Night. Grandpa and Grandpa Turzynski, and Great Grandpa Ryan all came to town to help celebrate. We all had a really nice time and I think Evan really enjoyed all the family time. We Evan took the little guys to the Twin City Model Railroad Museum, which was awesome. So awesome in fact... we had a very hard time leaving. Something tells me, we'll definitely be back to this place.

Evan got this sweet orange ball from the Zimmermann's

Happy Second Birthday Evan!

We're having a hard time believing our little guy is already two years old. These last two years have flown by. We had such a nice weekend with Sophie, Toby and Grandma and Grandpa Stalder. Evan got some company in his room Friday night, as we blew up the air mattress and had Sophie sleep in his room. He liked it a little too much... he spent about an hour running around and jumping on the air mattress, and he had a hard time falling asleep with all the excitement. But having family in town was great, and Evan got some real special treatment for his big birthday.

Opening presents

Since Evan has been obsessed with "clocks" lately, Adrienne
made him a "Clock Birthday Cake." He loved it, and it
was delicious... butter cream frosting.

Saturday Morning cartoons... Mickey Mouse I believe

Evan got a new train engine from the Easter Bunny...
he had to give it a test drive.

I think that's a plastic egg Sophie is about
to chuck into her basket... let's hope it was.

Love this photo.
