Birthday Weekend, Part 2

Evan's birthday extravaganza concluded last weekend, with the Turzynski Family coming to down. Cousin Grayson slept over Friday night and as a special treat, Evan got to sleep over at Grayson's house Saturday Night. Grandpa and Grandpa Turzynski, and Great Grandpa Ryan all came to town to help celebrate. We all had a really nice time and I think Evan really enjoyed all the family time. We Evan took the little guys to the Twin City Model Railroad Museum, which was awesome. So awesome in fact... we had a very hard time leaving. Something tells me, we'll definitely be back to this place.

Happy Second Birthday Evan!

We're having a hard time believing our little guy is already two years old. These last two years have flown by. We had such a nice weekend with Sophie, Toby and Grandma and Grandpa Stalder. Evan got some company in his room Friday night, as we blew up the air mattress and had Sophie sleep in his room. He liked it a little too much... he spent about an hour running around and jumping on the air mattress, and he had a hard time falling asleep with all the excitement. But having family in town was great, and Evan got some real special treatment for his big birthday.

Opening presents

Since Evan has been obsessed with "clocks" lately, Adrienne
made him a "Clock Birthday Cake." He loved it, and it
was delicious... butter cream frosting.

Evan got a new train engine from the Easter Bunny...
he had to give it a test drive.

I think that's a plastic egg Sophie is about
to chuck into her basket... let's hope it was.

Love this photo.

Our 100th Blog Post!

It's hard to believe this is our 100th blog post. The last two years have gone by so fast! The blog has been a great place for us to share our good times. We're looking forward to our 500th post.

Adrienne was out of town for work this weekend, so it was daddy daycare Friday through Sunday. The boys had a good time. We went swimming, met up with our buddy Alvin, went to the hardware store and, of course, we got doughnuts.

When Daddy's in charge... it's
Hamburger Helper time!

All smiles!

We tried out the new "Alien PJ's," Evan thought
they were pretty funny

Goofy Videos

Evan was in quite a mood this evening. We had to get the video camera out to record how excited and chatty he was.

In this first video, he's running through the yard pointing out the new "tulips" that are starting to bloom in the garden.

This next video is pretty long, but at dinner he was just babbling like a goofball, and we had to record it. He goes on and on about "fixing bubbles," "his broken french fry," "googly eyes," "ceiling fans," and "clocks."

March Madness

It's been a little crazy around the house lately, what else is new. Evan enjoyed St. Patty's Day weekend with Daddy, while Mommy was out of town for work. We've been treated to some great weather the last few weekends and we've taken advantage. Evan enjoys spending hours outside running around and going to the park. The hard part is getting him back inside.

Trains, Trucks and Parks

We just wanted to post a couple photos from another great weekend with our little guy...

At the park, Saturday morning. Still a bit cold, but it warmed up after a few hours.
We got doughnuts after the park.. not sure if he would have let us leave the park without the promise of "doughnuts."

We had to get a photo of Evan in the plaid shirt. He looks so grown up!

Pushing the dump truck in the driveway Saturday evening.
Notice the road, drawn in sidewalk chalk. Evan has a thing for "roads" right now.
And of course we logged a few hours on the tracks... this was our Sunday morning.

Lazy Sunday (& Saturday)

Another great weekend at home with our little guy. Lots of trains... of course. Evan got to go to the big swimming pool at Life Time. We had a great time, and he realy liked the "waterfall." It's one of those mushroom things, where the water flows down from the top. Evan loved going through the falling water and kept shouting "Waterfall!!!"

Here's a VIDEO of Evan playing with his trains, and looking for "Hiro's Tender." We've learned that the tender is the little car behind the engine that carrries all the coal.

Evan really likes the "Town" rug, he's run around the house and says "Town Daddy, Town Daddy!"

Growing up!!!

Hello everyone!  It's been another fun two weeks since our last post and our little guy cannot stop talking!  He's putting more and more words together now and has started expressing things that he can't even see at the time.  For example, we were sitting down to dinner the other night and he glanced around and said, "uh oh, Grayson's chair all gone!" - I think he was remembering cousin Grayson visiting and bringing his booster chair to sit on, I'm not sure, but it was adorable.  It's been so much fun to watch his words begin to catch up with his ideas in play too. Here he is playing Trains in the Tub.   And here is is playing his new favorite, Evan's Pizza Place. He's becoming a director, telling us to get specific toys and put them "right der" ("right there").  He's also becoming more interested in the names of all his buddies at daycare, and will routinely list them off as we drive away from daycare.  So cute!

One more video:

Doing what he loves best!

Reading a story with his buddy Alvin and Alvin's daddy.

This is what we look like before a run in the cold.

And this is what we look like when we can stop and play mid-run.

*Love*ly Day

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Just a few shots of our little love as he is our favorite Valentine!

Taking his coupe for a cruise this weekend.

Tearing up the "big kid" park and refusing to let mama help him with any of the ladders or slides.

A happy, slightly blurry post-park face.

Inspecting the front loader.

Dealing with plumbers butt.

Refusing to look at the camera, showing off his valentine's t-shirt, and looking incredibly tall before leaving for daycare!

Ready, Set... Go!

Here's a great VIDEO of Evan pushing around one of his trucks. He was really into it.

He has been learning more and more words and he just keeps surprising us everyday with new ones. He also seems to be putting more words together to say phrases. Like "Daddy, stories please." Impossible to resist.

Here's a few fun photos from early February...

Trains... in the Tent. What could be better?
